Track BRC, regional runner-up
Wildcat sophomore Amelia Kjos maintains a lead over New Richmond’s Maddie Kelly heading into the final 75 meters of the girls’ 400 meter dash Monday at the WIAA Regional meet in New Richmond. Kjos pulled away from Kelly to finish third with a time of 1 minute, 0.75 seconds and qualify for this Thursday’s sectional meet in Rice Lake.

Boys, girls take runner-up at 8-team track invite 
Paige Skorseth and Riley Claude won individual titles for the Wildcat girls, and brothers Auggie and Tiano Pupungatoa each won an event for the boys, as both Wildcat track and field teams posted second place finishes at the eight-team Hudson True Team Invitational Friday, April 13, at Newton Field.

Cats clinch sixth at All-American Invite
The Wildcat boys’ 4x800 meter relay team combined for a first place finish and junior Paige Skorseth shattered her own school record in the indoor 1600 meter run as both the River Falls’ boys and girls team finished sixth at the prestigious, 16-team, All-American Invitational Saturday, March 31, at UW River Falls’ Knowles Center.

Wildcat girls 4th at state cross country
The River Falls’ girls matched their best finish ever by placing fourth at the WIAA State Cross Country Championships Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids.
The Cats finished with a team score of 202. Arrowhead won the girls’ Division 1 team title with 56.

Runners get wet, wild
Seventeen high school cross country teams from Wisconsin and Minnesota kicked off the 2011 season at the River Falls Extreme Invitational Thursday in and around the South Fork of the Kinnickinnic River on the campus of UW-River Falls.
Participants started on the UWRF intramural fields and proceeded along a course that included two trips through the South Fork.
