River Falls Postmaster Christopher Kottke reminds residents that on Saturday, May 11, all River Falls postal carriers will be collecting non-perishable food items as part of their national “Stamp Out Hunger” drive.
The community garden program Grow to Share announced that it has rescheduled its seasonal-kickoff event to 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at the community garden located in the eastern portion of Hoffman Park.
The Sons of the American Legion are hosting a spaghetti dinner at the American Legion hall, 701 N. Main St. Dinner is from 4-8 p.m., along with raffles and silent auction. Music by DJ Dr. Groove starts at 8 p.m. Tickets: adults (12+) $8; kids 6-11 $4, under 5 are free.
Parents of Whitnall School students vented their anger at a special meeting this week at which the district tried to explain why parents weren’t told immediately when the school’s food service director was arrested for child enticement.
