UW-RF volleyball to host “Dig for the Cure”

The UW River Falls volleyball team will host a Dig for the Cure volleyball match on Wednesday, Oct. 12, when the Falcons take on the UW-Stout Blue Devils at 7 p.m. at Karges Center. This season marks the fourth straight year that the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) volleyball teams are hosting fundraisers for breast cancer awareness in October.

Wildcat volleyball seeks ball girls

The River Falls High School varsity volleyball team is looking for ball girls for the 2011 season. Ball girls have the opportunity to be a part of the action by working and cheering at all home matches. Each ball girl is assigned a varsity player that acts as a big sister at all team functions. Fifth out of 64

The River Falls Volleyball Association’s U15 team took fifth place in the 15 Silver Division of the President’s Day Tournament in Bloomington, Minn., Feb. 20. The 15 Silver Division consisted of 64 teams from communities throughout the Midwest. Team members include, in front, Callie Jirik. Salute to ball girls

Members of the Wildcat volleyball team saluted the team’s young ball girls before the Cats’ final home game of the season Oct. 12 and got together for a picture before taking the court against Rice Lake. The girls, in grades kindergarten through six, shagged balls during the team’s warm-ups and stood on the floor and handed balls to players during all the Wildcat home matches this season. The ball girls included Madison Kealy, Morgan Kealy, Izzy Barr, Olivia Kittleson, Grace Kittleson, Mariah Marg, Million Teasdale, Olivia Tepp, Rachel Kelm, Mattie Peters, Ella Peters, Hailey Graetz, Maddie Shew and Riley Nezbit.

The Falcon volleyball team will host its Dig for the Cure match on Wednesday, Oct. 20, when UW-RF hosts UW-Eau Claire at the Karges Center. Action starts at 7 p.m.

Point River Falls

Wildcat junior Zoe Barr wins a battle at the net for a point in the Cats Big Rivers Conference match at Hudson last Tuesday. The Raiders defeated River Falls, 25-21, 25-22, 25-16. The Wildcats bounced back to finish second at the Osceola Invitational Saturday, defeating Unity and Baron while losing to St. Croix Falls and Osceola.
