Cats shine at state track Yanique Black may have had a chance to contend for a medal at last weekend’s WIAA State Track and Field Championships. Black posted the 10th fastest time in the girls’ 100 meter dash during the three heats of Friday’s qualifying races.

River Falls will have representatives in five individual events and one relay at the WIAA State Track and Field Championships June 5-6 in La Crosse. Yanique Black, Kali Kramolis and Colin Rogers all won individual championships to lead the Wildcat charge at Friday’s sectional meet in Wausau.

Cats shine at track regional Twenty Wildcat track and field athletes qualified for Friday’s sectional meet in 16 different events at Tuesday’s regional competition in River Falls. River Falls’ girls finished third in the regional team standings and the boys took fourth, while the two teams combined for five individual championships.
