Gymnasts keep state streak alive
The Wildcat gymnastics team dominated the sectional tournament in Holmen Saturday, finishing over seven points ahead of its nearest competitor to win the team title and claiming 14 of the 25 possible qualifying spots for the individual state tournament.

Girls’ hockey, gymnasts returning to state
The St. Croix Valley Fusion girls’ hockey team and the River Falls High School gymnastics team both earned return trips to state at their respective sectionals Saturday.
The Fusion defeated Hudson 3-1 in a sectional final Saturday night at Hunt Arena while the Wildcat gymnasts took first at the 8-team Division 2 sectional tournament in Holmen.

WISCONSIN RAPIDS -- The River Falls gymnastics team won Division II state championship Saturday, edging out Whitefish Bay by just more than one point to finish with 142.649 total.

The Wildcat gymnastics team cracked the 140 point plateau in a nonconference dual victory over Stillwater, Minn., last Tuesday, then raised the bar even higher to win the Flip for a Cure Invitational Saturday in Galesville.

Rising star
Raina Albores, a third grade River Falls student, competed in the USAG gymnastics level 5 meet in Minnesota recently and scored 33.475 in all-around, which meets the qualifications to compete in the Minnesota State Gymnastics meet.

Benefit dinner Saturday for new gymnastics facility
The River Falls Gymnastics Club, as part of its “Flip for Gymnastics” campaign, will host its second annual benefit dinner this Saturday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m., in the banquet room at the Best Western Hotel on Main and Spring streets.
