Nothing went right for the Wildcat boys’ basketball team in the first six minutes of its sectional final at Antigo Saturday night. By the time River Falls righted the ship they found themselves trailing the top-seeded Red Robins 14-0.

Boys’ hoops advances to regional final
The River Falls boys’ basketball team went on a 15-2 run in the final six minutes to erase a 31-25 deficit and defeat D.C. Everest, 40-33, in a regional semifinal game Tuesday night in River Falls.
The eighth-seeded Cats (18-5) move on to face top-seeded Antigo (21-0) in a regional final game Saturday at 7 p.m. in Antigo.

Tickets for boys’ basketball playoff game on sale Thursday
Tickets for the Wildcat boys’ basketball team’s regional final game at Antigo Saturday night will be sold Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the high school activities office. Tickets cost $4 each.
A fan bus to the game will leave from the high school at 2 p.m. Saturday. Cost will be around $20 depending on the number of people who sign up. To sign up, or for more information, contact Dan Wunrow at (715) 821-4654.

The Wildcat boys’ basketball team picked up a pair of huge Big Rivers Conference road wins last week, defeating Hudson 53-45 last Tuesday before handing Eau Claire Memorial its first conference loss, 59-57, in triple overtime on Saturday.

Weather affecting high school sports
The first snowstorm of the season has forced the postponement of some local high school sporting events scheduled for tonight (Tuesday).
Tuesday night’s River Falls High School girls’ basketball, boys’ basketball and girls’ hockey games have all been postponed.
