There’s an uptick of sentiment that government is out of touch, that spending is out of control, so it’s a concern to see recent stories about higher public wages either approved or contemplated. With 10% unemployment, area foreclosures still running very high, and wages of many private sector workers frozen or cut, such actions fuel the anti-government mood.

The troops, on active duty for a year, spent time at Fort McCoy in central Wisconsin filling out paperwork and having physicals as they prepare to return to civilian life.
