Air quality advisory includes River Falls

The Wisconsin DNR issued an air-quality advisory for particle pollution – a level orange alert, effective through at least 11 p.m. Thursday, March 11. The warning applies to 54 counties including all of Pierce and St. Croix.

Two high school state champions in one weekend, two parades down Main Street River Falls Sunday. The River Falls-based Fusion hockey team won a state title in Madison, while the River Falls high school gymnists captured the state crown in Wisconsin Rapids.

Pictured are Interfacial’s president Jeff Cernohous and wife Kristi, who is the company’s manager of quality and characterization. The state Department of Commerce and the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Network announced Feb. 22 its first-ever list of Companies to Watch. On it were two River Falls businesses.

Heavy fog, near-zero visibility leads to chain-reaction crash

Five vehicles got banged up in Thursday morning's dense fog on County Road FF west of Hwy. 29 in the town of River Falls. According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, a 1989 Chevy truck driven by Steven Meads of rural River Falls was eastbound on FF when he swerved to avoid another car, also eastbound, that suddenly appeared in the fog ahead. Meads maneuvered over to the shoulder.
