Counterfeit suspects caught

Three young Minnesota men were picked up Thursday night, March 11, after allegedly flashing around five $100 bills at a rural Pierce County bar in the town of Trenton. The three men, all 21 years old, were stopped on Hwy. 63 not far from the Woodshed Bar where they allegedly tried using the fake bills.

Battered, bruised and mixed up Police arrested a 22-year-old UW-River Falls student for battery late Saturday night, but no one’s been able to sort out what happened and why. Heavy drinking likely contributed to the conflicting accounts and blurry memories. Neither the college student arrested nor the young man who had his nose split open by a blow to the face could explain.

River Falls Police asked for the public’s help in locating a brown, male, pit-bull mix dog that bit a 6-year-old girl in the evening hours of March 4. The owner reported March 6 that he had found the dog.

Update: Cat feces used to start trailer blazes; teen boy accused

River Falls police say evidence points to a 16-year-old local boy as the one who set three recent minor blazes at Cudd's trailer court, 1450 S. Wasson Lane. The boy, who lives in a nearby apartment complex on Cemetery Road, allegedly set fire to cat feces inside a paper bag and left it on the porch of one trailer home.

Bar gets another noise ticket PressPass

After the third warning, River Falls police gave the owner of Coach’s Bar, 127 S. Main St., a $114 citation for loud and unnecessary noise last Thursday just after 1:30 a.m. Officers had taken complaints from an upstairs tenant and agreed the blaring music was too loud. Last year Coach’s was cited at least a half-dozen times for loud noise, mostly originating from a newly expanded area of the bar.

Pizza delivery man takes one on the chin PressPass

People are impatient. People drink. The two combined can be volatile, especially if you're trying to make a delivery from Domino's Pizza, 118 N. Main St. According to police, that scenario was in place Tuesday evening, Feb. 16, at 1450 S. Wasson Lane. An upset 49-year-old man there was ticketed for punching a 27-year-old pizza delivery man in the face. Luckily, the victim said the blow didn't hurt because his attacker was too drunk.

River Falls police had their hands full with an 18-year-old male who returned drunk to his parents’ house at 1 a.m. Sunday and allegedly began shoving his girlfriend and fighting with his dad. When officers arrived they found the mom and dad had pinned the young man to the floor.

Name calling, kiss and then a smack in the face PressPass

A 24-year-old New Richmond man was arrested for disorderly conduct on North Main Street at 2 a.m. Saturday for punching another man in the face as the two were being separated outside a bar. Inside the bar, the arrested man allegedly called the other man a “fag” and then kissed him on the side of the cheek. This led to pushing and shoving. Both were escorted outside by bouncers.
