Church Euchre group begins
The St. Bridget Afternoon Euchre Group will begin a new year, September through May, at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at the church in the Garden View Room, and continue meeting the first Thursday of each month. Church holds Scottish festival 
First Presbyterian Church, 1901 Vine St., Hudson, will hold its fifth annual Scottish Heritage Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11. The free event begins with an opening ceremony honoring the military, firemen, policemen and rescue personnel.

Vacation Bible school planned
First Covenant Church, 1374 N. Main St., will hold a vacation Bible school from 6-8 p.m. beginning Sunday, Aug. 8, for children ages 4 through 5th grade. This year’s theme is “High Seas Expedition” and will feature a Bible voyage, clipper ship crafts, ship “rec” games, goodies from the galley and more. The event goes through Thursday, Aug. 12. Anniversary celebrated with picnic, ice cream social
St. John’s United Church of Christ will celebrate its 150-year anniversary with a picnic and ice cream social from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 25. Good food, games for kids and fun for all are planned for the event.
The church is located in rural Prescott on County Road QQ.
