University Theatre presents ‘To Fool the Eye,' begins Dec. 6
The UW-River Falls University Theatre will present “To Fool the Eye,” Jeffrey Hatcher’s adaptation of Jean Anouilh’s 1939 comical romantic fantasy “Leocadia.” Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6-8 and 13-15 in the Blanche Davis Theatre of the Kleinpell Fine Arts building.

10 YEARS AGO, NOV. 28, 2002
The 99-year-old “Freeman House” at 220 North Third St., owned by Paul and Marge Stokke since 1972, was named an historic landmark, with a plaque installed out front and owners obligated to preserve external features of the house. The house was built by Arthur Symes, grandfather to cousins Kirby and John, and purchased by original Freeman Drugstore owner R.S. Freeman and his wife. The house has many charming features including leaded and beveled glass windows, unique sliding glass door, curved dormer, and Palladian sets of windows.

Good hunting
Howard Potton, formerly of River Falls, now of Anchorage, Alaska, shot this 16-point, 201-lb. buck on his family's property near Weston Wisconsin. The deer is currently the leader on the Weston Bar's big buck board. Potton a UWRF graduate and an Alaska Airline pilot, recently returned from deployment in Afghanistan with the Alaska Air National Guard. He is the son of Larry and Linda Potton, River Falls.
