A 23-year-old orange-costumed rural River Falls man was stopped for kicking a Bubba's Fried Chicken trash can down Main Street before 2 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28. As an officer identified himself and ordered the man to stop, the man resisted and asked the officer: 'Who are you?' The officer identified himself a second time as the man continued to resist and insist the officer wasn't a cop.

Frisbie 9th at state cross country; Powell 25th
River Falls’ sophomore Anne Frisbie placed 9th with a time of 14 minute, 38.6 seconds in the 4,000 meter Division 1 girls’ race at the WIAA State Cross Country Championships Saturday, Oct. 27, in Wisconsin Rapids. Wildcat junior Trent Powell finished 25th in the 5,000 meter boys’ race. A total of 190 runners competed in each race.

A Minnesota man who just moved to River Falls was arrested by police for breaking into an upstairs duplex in the 200 block of North Ninth Street and making off with an overnight leather bag that had nail polish, mascara, lip gloss, women’s underwear and more. Some items, including high-heeled shoes, spilled out and left a trail leading to where the man was found crouching in the corner of the fenced-in backyard.
