Kealy takes helm for Wildcat hockey
Mike Kealy is no stranger to River Falls hockey. A former Wildcat himself, Kealy has coached at every level of the River Falls Youth Hockey Association, including guiding Pee Wee and Bantam teams to state titles in 2004 and 2005, and serving as RFYHA board president from April, 2009 to April 2012.

Frisbie 9th at state cross country; Powell 25th
River Falls’ sophomore Anne Frisbie placed 9th with a time of 14 minute, 38.6 seconds in the 4,000 meter Division 1 girls’ race at the WIAA State Cross Country Championships Saturday, Oct. 27, in Wisconsin Rapids. Wildcat junior Trent Powell finished 25th in the 5,000 meter boys’ race. A total of 190 runners competed in each race.

The River Falls’ girls golf team advanced to the sectional round of WIAA tournament play with a second place finish at the New Richmond Regional Wednesday, Sept. 26. The WIAA Sectional tournament will be played Monday, Oct. 1, at the Stevens Point Country Club in Stevens Point.

UW-River Falls junior defensive back Alex Adams, center, leads youngsters from the River Falls Youth Football Association as they yell “One-two-three —bacon!” and break a huddle after Adams and his teammates practiced with the group last Tuesday at Ramer Field. When Adams asked the kids what they wanted to yell they responded, “bacon!” This is the second straight year the Falcons have hosted the youth football players for a practice and autograph session. The UWRF football team had a bye last week but returns to action this Saturday by hosting UW-Stout under the lights at David Smith Stadium at Ramer Field at 7 p.m. It will be the first home night game for the Falcons since 2006.
