Two drivers arrested after joyride felled trees and sent residents scrambling
River Falls police finally caught up with two male suspects in a reckless driving incident Saturday night on the city’s south side in the Greenwood Valley Drive area. A 31-year-old River Falls man was arrested for drunk driving-second offense. He allegedly kept careening his Hummer off and on the road, across yards, over trees, into utility junction boxes. Adults outside at the time said it was miracle no one was hit and killed, including children.

Pierce County authorities reported early Sunday that a 72-year-old man died Saturday evening in the town of Oak Grove after his motorcycle crashed in a ditch off Hwy. 35 near County Road E. Meanwhile, deputies continue to search the waters of the Mississippi River near Bay City for the body of a 38-year-old man who is believed to have drowned early Saturday evening.

Westbound I-94 east of Hudson was closed for six hours on Thursday, June 7, in the wake of a five-vehicle crash involving two semi tractor-trailers. Just one person, Mary A. Kielpinski, 63, of Eau Claire was seriously injured in the accident.
