River Falls High School Marching Wildcats claimed another first-place ranking in the AAA competition held at UW Whitewater Saturday, Oct. 13, which they followed with a winners’ ride through town on a fire truck. The band delivered a winning performance despite being moved into the field house because of inclement weather.

The St. Croix County Sheriff’s department has identified the victim in a rural Somerset house fire late Friday. Thomas H. Cook, 70, was found dead in his house at 2107 County Rd. I. A deputy was dispatched at 11:59 p.m., Oct. 5.
