Liquor-license veto stands
The City Council took no action at its Tuesday meeting to challenge Mayor Dan Toland’s veto of a liquor-license approval it granted by appeal with a 4-2 vote at the Aug. 26 meeting. Toland sent written notice of the veto two days later.

'Close to Home' features Blegen's prints
Don Blegen has some 20 of his nature/wildlife prints on display on the main level of the River Falls Public Library through November. Blegen is a Spring Valley native and retired Elmwood High School teacher. The prints revolve around the theme 'Close to Home,' as all but one were taken here in Western Wisconsin.
