A neighbor late last month complained that a 29-year-old man living in the 700 block of High Ridge Road purposely left his kennel filled with animal poop on the edge of their properties. The kennel door was open and facing the offended neighbor’s property. River Falls police were contacted.

The Moose Lodge, 620 N. Clark Street, will host a brunch on Sunday, May 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The menu will include pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, potatoes, coffee, juice and milk. A 26-year-old local man said he was trying to do something nice by preparing dinner for his girlfriend last week Thursday night, Oct. 20. River Falls police say it ended with the couple arguing and then the man not only choking the woman, but also biting her, slapping her, banging her head and pulling her hair. The woman fled to Cottage Grove, Minn., and reported the incident to police there who contacted River Falls police.

Standing on the County Road Y bridge, I could see scattered dead brown trout, brook trout, suckers, shiners and a few fish that appeared to be struggling. We contacted the DNR to report the fish kill.
