  • One showperson from River Falls said competitors wear white pants in the show ring as a sign of courtesy to the judges and spectators.
  • Those showing an animal had work to do before going in the ring, with different tasks depending on the animal. Many needed bathed, clipped, combed, shined and other grooming.

  • The Pierce County Llama project brought many llamas plus display many of the products made from their hair.
  • Many young horse riders competed to see who had the best barrel-racing time.
  • This matted and framed farm-at-sunset photo take by Frances Huppert of River Falls earned top honors at the Pierce County Fair.
  • This project earned the 'champion' title for quilting at the Pierce County Fair, done by Rosalie  Timm of Cardinal Quilting in Spring Valley.
  • Samora Nthole of River Falls built this bean-bag game board plus a wooden bench, each of which earned a first-place ribbon.
  • The carnival midway, as always, was a popular place for fun-seeking families.
  • Lena and Ole's Gifts offered fun gifts unique to the Midwest and to people of Norwegian and Swedish heritage. Owner Lane Backus of Wilson attends the booth, in which shoppers could find T-shirts for example, that said, "Uff-da" and "Yah, sure, you betcha."
