  • Speakers at the groundbreaking included SCVHFH Director Jim Farr; Director of the St. Croix Institute for Sustainable community Development, based on the UW-River Falls campus, Kelly Cain; Habitat’s Stephen Seidel; former River Falls mayor Don Richards; current River Falls Mayor Dan Toland; and well-known local man of ministry, Del Permann.
  • Since starting to move dirt in late May, several Habitat homes have begun taking shape including foundations and walls.
  • As EcoVillage homes take shape, so do site improvements like a new road.
  • Habitat-home construction has begun in the EcoVillage.
  • The first six families who will live in the Habitat EcoVillage have already been working on their homes and all attended the July 17 ceremonial groundbreaking.
