  • The first layer of blacktop was poured on Friday, June 22 at 12 p.m. on the corner of Fifth and Spring Street. Crews worked until midafternoon to finish that section of the road and then moved on to the roundabout at the intersection of Sixth and Cascade Avenue. Construction for Cascade Avenue will continue all summer long.
  • The construction continues farther down Cascade Avenue with workers putting the final touches on the steam tunnel, getting the dirt compacted down and set for curbs and more of the road to be poured in the weeks to come.
  • The roundabout at Sixth and Cascade Avenue has been paved as part of the continuing construction happening along East Cascade. Work has been going smoothly, with some bumps in the road from weather and the rain getting inside the steam tunnel.
  • Cascade Avenue construction has been getting more exciting with curbs and leveling off the road getting set for paving during the week of June 18.
