Brad Johnson, 51

August 27, 2010

Brad O. “Oly” Johnson, age 51, of River Falls, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 27, 2010, at home.

He was born April 3, 1959, in River Falls, son of Lynn and Irene (Carlson) Johnson. Brad graduated from River Falls High School in 1977; he loved playing football during those years. He was united in marriage to Connie (Bernhoft) Hubbard on August 17, 2002, at Rush River Lutheran Church.

Brad was an avid hunter; he especially enjoyed whitetail and turkey hunting with his family and friends and also his dogs. He was also a talented handyman. He could fix just about anything. Brad was a big Brett Favre fan and had been converted from a Green Bay Packer to a Minnesota Viking supporter because of Brett’s move, but mainly because of his wife, Connie. He will be missed.

Brad is survived by his wife, Connie; two children, Matthew of Portland, Ore., and Amber of Lyndon Station, Wis.; six brothers and sisters, Idell (Jim) Anderson, Larry (Judy) Johnson, Dave (Carol) Johnson, Trudy Johnson, Julie (Gene) Kolasinski, and Doug (Michelle) Johnson; and further survived by numerous extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve; and a sister, Wendy.

Memorial services for Brad will be 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at the Cashman-Hill Funeral Home in River Falls with Reverend Gerd Bents officiating. Memorial gathering for family and friends will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. The family would prefer if everybody would wear something camouflage to support Brad’s addiction to hunting.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.cashmanhillfuneralservice.com. Cashman-Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services of River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.

I'll never forget growing up with you. I'll never forget "Scrapper" your family dog when we were young. I'll never forget neighborhood wiffle ball games on summer evenings. I'll never forget that we were made to sit at the table right in front of the teacher's desk in Jr. High for goofing around in class too much (yuk, yuk). I'll never forget you, Brad. Happy Hunting!
