Josephine M. Bjerstedt, 98

Josephine M. Bjerstedt, age 98, of River Falls, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at River Falls Area Hospital.

She was born on Sept. 18, 1911, daughter of Clarence and Catherine (Moelter) Hill. Josephine was united in marriage for 50 years to Severd Bjerstedt.

She was a patient lady who was known for her cooking. She enjoyed gardening; especially for growing flowers. She loved to travel and took many bus tours throughout the United States. She enjoyed fishing at the cabin. She was a wonderful housekeeper, a neat and friendly person, happy-go-lucky, strong-willed and always kept herself busy.

Josephine is survived by a son, Dale (Lana) Bjerstedt of River Falls; three grandchildren, Steve (Vicky) Huppert, Lisa (Bill) Reis, and Luke Bjerstedt; three great-grandchildren, Kyle and Alana Huppert and Angel Reis; a brother, Earl Hill; and further survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Severd; daughter, Yvonne; two sisters, Edith and Kathrine; and a brother, Johnny.

Funeral services for Josephine will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church in River Falls with Reverends Mark Hall and John Henning officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. at the church on Saturday.

Cashman-Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services of River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
