David Joe Williams, 71, of Roberts, Wis., died Tuesday, Jan. 15, at United Hospital, St. Paul, Minn.

David was born on July 24, 1941, in Alexandria, Minn., the son of Joseph and Vivian (Gumz) Williams. He was a 1959 graduate of Buffalo High School, Buffalo, Minn. David served from 1961 until 1965 in the U.S. Navy.
David was a longtime employee of Lund's Hardware.
He was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, River Falls, Wis., and Fletcher-Pechacek American Legion Post #121, River Falls.
David is survived by his wife, Jeanne Williams, Roberts; children: Michael (Tracy) Williams, Hudson, Wis.; Jennifer (Scott) Robbins, River Falls; Abbie (Garrett Haugrud) Williams, River Falls; and JohAnna (Brandon) Diener, Baldwin, Wis.; grandchildren, Thomas, Chelsey, Ashley J., Holly, Jacob, Lyndsey, James, Ashley B., Vivian Mae "Missy Pants," and one grand-bun in the oven; great-grandchildren, Lorelei, Josiah, Melina, Mason, and one great-grand-bun in the oven; two sisters, Kay (Jerry) Gilbertson, Rice Lake, Wis., and Jane (Jim) Lindstrom, Edina, Minn. David is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip; parents; and a brother, James.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, River Falls. Fr. Gerald Harris will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Cashman-Hill Funeral Home, River Falls, and for 1 hour prior to the Mass at the church on Friday. Military honors provided by the veterans of Fletcher-Pechecek American Legion Post #121, River Falls.
