Grace Norderhaug, 92

Grace Cordelia Norderhaug, 92, of Maplewood, Minn., formerly of River Falls, died Monday, March 11, at the Maplewood Care Center.

Grace Cordelia Norderhaug, 92, of Maplewood, Minn., formerly of River Falls, died Monday, March 11, at the Maplewood Care Center.

She was born the daughter of Carl and Gena (Austrum) Everson on Jan. 8, 1921, in Spring Valley. Grace grew up in rural Martell and spent her early adult life in Spring Valley before moving to River Falls. On Oct. 8, 1938, she married Selmar Norderhaug.

Grace enjoyed flower gardening and keeping a nice lawn. She was a wonderful cook and made the best lefse. She was a caregiver by nature and spent many hours volunteering at local nursing homes. In retirement, Grace and Selmar enjoyed spending some winters in Las Vegas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Selmar "Sam"; son, LeRoy; daughters: Diane; triplets, Denise, Deanna, Debbie; triplets, Joy, Jean, Jane; grandson David Norderhaug; son-in-law Phillip Schacht; brothers, Elmer, Arnold, Melvin, and Bernell Everson; sisters, Doris Lundgaard and Esther Heacock.

Grace is survived by her children Judy Schacht of Las Vegas, Nev., Gail (Ed) Ring of Circle Pines, Minn., Gary Norderhaug of Appleton, Wis.; grandchildren Richard Norderhaug of California, Todd (Mary) Schacht of Nevada, Troy Schacht of Hawaii, Scott Greske, Jessica Greske, Emma Ring, and Caitlin Ring, all of Minnesota; great-grandchildren, Renat and Anthony Norderhaug; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at Ezekiel Lutheran Church in River Falls. Visitation will also be Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
