Daniel H. Brown, age 85, of River Falls, died peacefully at home on March 2 with his wife, Ruth, and family by his side.

Daniel H. Brown, age 85, of River Falls, died peacefully at home on March 2 with his wife, Ruth, and family by his side.

Dan was a retired faculty member of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and served as dean of the School of Education until 1990.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth; his children, Diane (Mike) Kretz, Suzanne (Bob) Silverman, Tom (Karen) Brown, Ellen (Doug) Wiseman; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother, Richard (Sally), Black River Falls, Wis.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, River Falls. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the Mass at the church on Friday.

Memorials may be made to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Foundation (Dan Brown Scholarship Fund), 410 S. 3rd St., River Falls, WI 54022.

Cashman-Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services is serving the family.

Sue, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. I visited with your Mom at IGA a few years back; worked at Ogden Engineering at the time of your cabin issue. We are so sorry for your loss. Roger and Roxanne (Morrow) Shaide.
