Mary Elizabeth (Driscoll) Turcheneske, age 88, of River Falls, died on Thursday, Jan. 3, at Kinnic Health and Rehab.
Mary Elizabeth (Driscoll) Turcheneske, age 88, of River Falls, died on Thursday, Jan. 3, at Kinnic Health and Rehab.
She was born on Nov. 1, 1924, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Frederic and Angeline Driscoll. She graduated from the Atlantic City, N.J., High School. She married John Turcheneske on Jan. 10, 1943, at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Atlantic City.
Mary loved gardening and grew vegetables and beautiful flowers. Besides being a fantastic cook, crocheting and other crafts were her main hobbies. She was a member of the Wisconsin Homemakers. She assisted the CCD program at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed traveling and loved the ocean. She also enjoyed fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son Robert; and daughter Carol Ann.
Mary is survived by her son John A. Turcheneske Jr., Ph.D., River Falls.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, with Father Gerald Harris officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery.
