Mary A. "Marie" Johnson, age 92, died on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Deerfield Gables in New Richmond, Wis.

Mary A. "Marie" Johnson, age 92, died on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Deerfield Gables in New Richmond, Wis.

She was born to Joseph and Celestina (Pechacek) Brooks on May 13, 1920, in Cherma, Wis. Mary attended Forestville and Donegal Schools. She married Marshall Johnson on Sept. 12, 1939. She worked for Lang Wear and River Falls Medical Clinic.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and cooking. She made many crafts and quilts.

She is survived by her sons, Gary and Ron (Karen); daughters, Phyllis (Don) Foley and Deb Iverson; brother Joe (Margaret) Brooks; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marshall; grandson Cory; brother Milton; son-in-law Jim Iverson.

Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in River Falls. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at St. Bridget Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.

Mary was a wonderful lady! We did not see that she had passed until the obituary was in the paper. So sorry we missed her funeral but we are thinking of all of you. -Darlene and Diane Rhy
