Carla Jean Wichman, age 63, of Hammond, formerly of Osceola, died on Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Westfield Hospital in New Richmond, Wis., due to complications from MS.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1948, to Carl and Eva Jean (Linehan) Wichman in River Falls. Carla graduated from River Falls High School and UW - River Falls. She was a teacher in Andover, Mass.; a social worker in Helena, Mont.; and a business owner of the Village Store in Star Prairie, Wis.
Carla pursued an interest in painting and drawing throughout her life. She enjoyed gardening and loved her Old English Sheepdogs. She took great interest and pleasure in her nieces and nephews and enjoyed being a part of their lives. Carla's love of Montana will be her final resting place.
She is survived by siblings Pat (Dean) Bennett of Luck, Wis., Phil Wichman of River Falls, Wis., Jane (Jeff) Hinz of Star Prairie, and Sandy (Roger) Van Beek of Roberts, Wis.; nieces and nephews, Jay Bennett, Teri Bennett, Jennifer Hinz, Joe Hinz, Travis Wichman, and Luke Van Beek; great-nieces and –nephews, Ava and Layne Bennett and Kally, Amber, Jana, and Trevor Hinz.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Eva Jean (Linehan) Wichman.
A memorial service for Carla will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Cashman-Hill Funeral Home in River Falls with Father Gerald Harris officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.
