Robert O. Stevens, 91

Robert O. "Bob" Stevens, age 91, a longtime resident of River Falls, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, June 7, at The Lutheran Home.

Robert O. "Bob" Stevens, age 91, a longtime resident of River Falls, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, June 7, at The Lutheran Home.

He was born April 12, 1921, in St. Paul Park, Minn. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post 121 in River Falls. On Sept. 15, 1944, Bob married Mildred Lehr in Aplington, Iowa. He served on city and county government boards and was an active member of First Covenant Church in River Falls since 1956.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, and son Timothy.

He is survived by his son Rob (Pat) Stevens of River Falls; daughter, Mary (Warren Wildes) Stevens of Arden Hills, Minn.; granddaughters, Melissa (Jeremy) Crayford of River Falls and Kimberly (John) Fredrickson of Kenosha, Wis.; great-grandchildren, Evan and Simone Crayford, Allison and Eli Fredrickson.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at First Covenant Church in River Falls. A reception will follow the service at the church. Interment will be private. Memorials may be designated to First Covenant Church Building Fund.

Arrangements are with Bakken-Young Funeral & Cremation Services of River Falls.
