David Wayne "Dave" Keeney, age 52, of Hudson, Wis., and formerly of Mt. Hope, Wis., died sudden and unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 27, at his residence.

Dave was born March 11, 1960, in Mt. Hope, to parents Milton and Doris (Stanfley) Keeney. David was a graduate of West Grant High School in Patch Grove, Wis. After high school, David furthered his education at technical college and received multiple degrees in CAD drawing and design. On Aug. 16, 1986, Dave was united in marriage to Marie Crawford. The ceremony was the first ever held at the Renaissance Festival in Shakopee, Minn. To this union, his daughter, Andrea, would be born.

Dave worked for many years as a circuit board designer for United Technologies. Outside of work, Dave enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish, as well as garden. Dave also had a fondness for animals, owning hunting dogs, and raising chickens and cows. Family mattered to Dave, and he loved to have fun with his family. He could be found with a smile on his face when he was out at the race track, where he served as crew chief for his brother and best friend, Jeff and the Auto Physics Racing Team. Jeff was the "bender," and Dave was the "mender." Just as Dave was blessed with a loving family, he was a blessing to them. He will be dearly missed, and he'll always be remembered as a wonderful husband, dad, son, and brother.

Dave was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Daniel Keeney; maternal grandparents, Ray (Charlotte) Stanfley.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; daughter, Andrea; parents, Milton (Doris) Keeney of Hudson; brother and best friend, Jeff, (Barb) Keeney of River Falls; grandma Alice Keeney of Fennimore, Wis.; dog, Duke; cow, Oreo; as well as many other relatives and numerous friends.

A visitation for David Keeney will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 30, at the Cedar Lake Speedway, 2275 County Road CC, in rural New Richmond. A "Final Lap" in honor of David will be driven at 7 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will take place beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, with burial at the Hermitage Cemetery in Mt. Hope at 3 p.m. Family and friends will gather at church following the burial.

Services have been entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, 715-386-3725.
