Barbara J. Lee, age 80, of River Falls, died Friday, Feb. 24, at the River Falls Area Hospital.
Barbara Jean (Merriam) Lee, age 80, of River Falls, died Friday, Feb. 24, at the River Falls Area Hospital.
Barbara was born on Sept. 27, 1931, to Dale and Wanda (Staver) Merriam in Darlington, Wis. She married Gerald Roger Lee on May 9, 1953.
Barbara loved reading, and she was a member at Luther Memorial Church in River Falls, Wis. She worked previously at the Hallmark store in River Falls and also as a dietary aid at the River Falls Hospital. She and Jerry had been married for 53 years.
Survivors include her children, Debra (Michael) Murtha of Hammond, Dennis (Sally nee Wolf) Lee of St. Michael, Minn., Karen (Mark) McDonald of River Falls, Kevin Lee of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Vicki Lee of Woodbury, Minn.; siblings Ralph Merriam of Darlington, Judy Jensen of Madison, and Janice Dorow of Wisconsin Dells; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; siblings Paul Merriam, Willie Merriam, Ruth Wodke, and Glenn Merriam.
A memorial service for Barbara will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Luther Memorial Church with Reverend Michael Scholz officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date.
