Nancy M. Brenner, age 43, of Eau Claire, formerly of Durand, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center Fairview, Minneapolis, Minn. Although cystic fibrosis ultimately took her from us much too soon, it never slowed down her spirit as she lived every day to the fullest.

Nancy was born on March 6, 1968, in Durand. She was the daughter of Bernard and Lorraine (Holmstadt) Brenner. Nancy attended St. Mary's Grade School, Durand High School and Chippewa Valley Technical College where she received a degree in mechanical design. She worked for Supercomputer Systems Inc. (SSI), Design Automation Resources (DAR), Schmit Prototypes, and her own firm, Brenner Design Services. Nancy met the love of her life, Todd Armstrong, 23 years ago while going to school at CVTC.

Nancy was an outdoor enthusiast; she enjoyed snowmobiling, snow skiing, water skiing, jet skiing, volleyball, traveling, and riding her own Harley Davidson. Nancy had great artistic abilities from childhood all through her life where she used it not only for work but artistically as well. Most of all, Nancy loved to spend time with family, friends, and her kitties, Smoky, Brandy, and Riggy.

Nancy is survived by fiancé, Todd Armstrong; her parents, Bernard and Lorraine Brenner of Durand; one brother, Gary Brenner of Durand; two sisters, Ruth (David) Hunt of Plymouth, Minn., and Faye (Dan) Owen of Durand; one brother-in-law, John (Holly) Tremble of Hudson; sister-in-law, Nancy L. Brenner of Elmwood; six nephews, two nieces, numerous great-nieces and -nephews, other relatives, and many beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill J. and an infant, Michael Brenner; one sister, Barbara Brenner-Tremble; and a nephew, Austin Hunt.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Durand. Rev. Al Jakubowski will officiate. A celebration of Nancy's life will follow. Burial of cremains will be at a later date. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
