Jerry Dean Conwell, known affectionately to many as "JC", age 72, of Roberts, Wis., died on Thursday, Nov. 17, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Jerry Dean Conwell, known affectionately to many as "JC", age 72, of Roberts, Wis., died on Thursday, Nov. 17, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born Oct. 24, 1939, in Baldwin, Wis., to parents Kenneth and Camille (Cave) Rasmussen, and was later adopted by Robert W. Conwell. Jerry was a graduate of Hammond High School. On May 6, 1961, Jerry was united in marriage to Janice Rock at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hammond.
Jerry worked for many years as a machine operator for many different dairy creameries, one of which was the Land O'Lakes company. When he wasn’t working, Jerry could be found near the waters of the Rush River or the Willow River, fishing for trout. Jerry golfed with the Senior League in Hammond and was a true fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. Jerry also loved antique cars, especially his beloved 1956 Pontiac.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Janice; daughter, Jodie (Mark) Simon of Roberts; son, Jeff (Bonnie) Conwell of Roberts, grandchildren Joe and Holly Simon; sisters, Bonnie Conwell of San Diego, Calif., Bev Conwell of Stillwater, Minn.; brothers, Stan (Jenny) Conwell of Wyoming, Minn., Rollie (Lynn) Conwell of Laguna Hills, Calif.; brothers-in-law, Bernie Rock of Baldwin, Ronnie (Floy) Rock of Colfax, Wis., Tom (Judy) Rock of Hammond, John (Nancy) Rock of Hammond; sisters-in-law, Mary (Carl) Hemenway of Hammond and Ann (Neal) Ihrke of Roberts; uncles, Gene (Joan) Cave of Rice Lake, Wis., Bill (Margaret) Cave of Roberts; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Rasmussen; dad, Robert Conwell; mother, Camille Cave O’Brien; grandparents, Clifford (Mildred) Cave, Peter (Ruth) Rasmussen; parents-in-law, Freeman (Lavina) Rock.
Mass of Christian Burial for Jerry "JC" Conwell will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 211 East Division St., River Falls, with Rev. Father Gerald Harris officiating. The Resurrection Choir will provide music. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services at the church and also from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton St., Baldwin. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Hammond with Tim Hemenway, Kyle Hemenway, Eric Rock, Mike Rock, Scott Rock, Chris Rock, Rick Rock, Danny Rock, Clinton Ihrke, Clayton Ihrke, Ben and Elliott Conwell having the privilege of being urn bearers.
