A crowd of about 30 people gathered the afternoon of Oct.19 to commemorate the completion and opening of a new park in the Highview Meadows subdivision located where County Rd. M and Liberty Road intersection east of Hwy. 65.

Below, the River Falls Lions Club purchased and planted six new trees for the Highview Meadows park, planting them the day before the dedication. The trees – two greenspire lindens, two red maples and two autumn blaze maples – ranged in height from 12 feet to 20 feet. The civic service fit with the Lions Club International goal of planting one million trees during 2011.
