Habitat Hammerheads


The Habitat Hammerheads team looks on as the Harlem Ambassadors do some fancy moves. The local team included many players from the community: Habitat Director Jim Farr and River Falls Mayor Don Richards coached 15 players: Meyer Middle School Principal Mark Chapin, River Falls School District Director of Academic Services Mike Johnson, RFHS Basketball Coach Zac Campbell, Bo’s ’N Mine owner Cedric Ellingson, Anytime Fitness Manager Gary Edwards, First National Bank President Jeff Johnson, River Falls Municipal Utilities’ Mike Noreen, St. Croix Central Athletic Director Nicolas Been, former UW-River Falls player Pat Ptacek, Northwestern Mutual representative Joe Jenkins, City Administrator Scot Simpson, Thrivent Financial representative Bjorn Nesvold, Gary Boiwen, Matt Weiss of BDI, and Bill Karnes. While the total amount raised for Habitat’s environmentally friendly Eco Village is not yet known, Habitat estimates attendance of several hundred at the event.
