“To be a public school superintendent today is to provide leadership in an age of pressure. The role has been characterized by some as trying to ride the backs of two dolphins at the same time. One dolphin represents the changing expectations of the community and the larger society, while the other represents the sensitive and difficult issues and performance of the school system.

Parents of kids who will be attending kindergarten for the 2010-11 school year should call soon to sign up for "Kindergarten Registration," which is Thursday, March 25, starting at noon. This registration is for all children who will be five by Sept. 1, 2010, and who will be attending River Falls public schools. Parents can begin calling for Kindergarten Registration on Monday, March 1.
