Fair animal auction delivers improved results for beef exhibitors, less overall for everyone
Friday night’s Meat Animal Auction at the Pierce County Fair brought decent returns for 4-H and FFA members who sold beef animals but markedly smaller rewards for youths selling hogs and sheep. Overall, sale proceeds were down about 23 percent from last year.
