State champs!
The St. Croix Valley Fusion girls’ hockey team, which includes high school girls from River Falls, Spring Valley, St. Croix Central and Baldwin -- won its first ever state championship on Saturday by defeating Fond Du Lac/Waupun Warbirds 10-4 at the Alliant Energy Center. The Fusion is the first undefeated state champion in girls’ hockey history. They finished the 2008-09 season with a record of 23-0-1.By: Bob Burrows, River Falls Journal
