Tourney champs
The River Falls U14 boys’ traveling soccer team took first place at its first tournament of the season May 5-6 in Appleton. River Falls defeated Marquette, Mich., 4-2 and the local Appleton team, 2-0, Saturday and were beating Milwaukee, 5-0, when the game was called off due to lightning. The referees declared River Falls tourney champs and the team will receive its trophies by courier.
