Star skater
Mara Fredrich, a 6th grade student at Meyer Middle School, competed in the 2011 Maplewood Fall Classic Figure Skating competition Sept. 16-18 in Vadnais Heights, Minn. She placed first in her jumps event and third in her free skate event. Fredrich is coached by Ann Harschutz of Hudson Skate School and is a member of the Starlight Ice Dance Club.
