Man-made global warming is a myth. CO2 levels have nothing to do with temperature variations. Sun spot activity does. Do the research. Other planets in our solar system warm and cool as well through sun spot cycles. Are we to blame for the temperature rise in space too? Hardly. Now I'm all for reducing pollution, but CO2 is not pollution. Air and water quality has been greatly improved in the last 30yrs, so there is no crisis. Also the US is sitting on huge amounts of natural gas, which could make the US the Saudi Arabia of natural gas. I say continue to encourage the use of more energy efficient sources through new technologies that will create and keep jobs here and finally, FINALLY tap into our own energy sources to become more energy independent. Taxing and trading carbon credits is a money making scam which will lead to higher and higher energy costs for all and it will do nothing to change climate variations. Plus all the needless new regulations in the 1300 page bill that nobody read, will strangle our economy even further. Not to mention this congress and adminstration has out spent all our former 43 administrations combined in less than 6 months with the failed stimulus and countless bail outs that are slowly taking control of private business and taking away our personal freedoms one by one. Welcome to the "change" some believed in.

Tom J. Your comment is way off base.. I believe we need to take care our our environment, but environmentalism should not be used to control the masses with fear tactics to gain political control. I have NEVER said we can burn fossil fuels as fast as we want, I personally think nuclear power should be used more, it's out gas is much cleaner. Of course then we have the problem of the spent nuclear rods. Nothing is perfect. It is obvious we need to leave this topic. Due to the fact we can not make our points in these small paragraphs back and forth in a complete enough fashion not to anger one another. This is one of the great problems of this type of forum, we tend to read between the lines and assume what the other person thinks, using our own experiences and views. I assume you believe one way , you assume I believe the other way, which a wrong thing to do since we are unable to write our entire views in this little box and understand one another.

This is a moot argument. The goal of the two party system is to keep us at odds with each other so we never truly unite and actually solve a problem. My opinion is to vote the whole bunch out and start over. Every incumbment, gone. It may be time to vote outside your political party(i.e. not Dem or Repub)and vote for real change. Not the force-feed BS that's happening now. That is the wake up call we all need to hear.

The sun warms the planet....without it we would not have heat....it is the key to your link. According to your link the more CO2 the better, we could use a little more right now, it has been a very cool July. Note to reader the sun spot activity has dropped....so now we go into political "Climate Change". Politicans still think they can control the weather with cap and trade fees.

I rest my case....The last example is proof enough for my points. This type of thinking is going to cause us to pay 6.00 per gallon gas, higher electric bills, higher natural gas bill. Thanks so much. There is no evidence CO2 causes the climate to warm. If this were true the answer the false problem would be to cut down all the trees and cork all of the volcanoes, cover up all of the decaying vegatation in the forest, don't forget about closing the mouth of every living creature on the planet, not cutting our energy for political gains to hobble America. Common sense would tell you we need air taken into our lungs to bring oxygen into our blood stream to live. It's been fun but I have had enough propaganda and attacks which are pointless. Talk to you the next topic.

Oh brother...you make such a good example of an progressive Obamanite. The problem with being a follower of Saul Alinsky, is he wrote the book on how to take over America, but died before he could explain what to do with America once they got it. So we come back full circle to the problem of blind stupid politicans spending money they need to print. One of the greatest Saul Alinsky tactics is making up things people say, then repeating made up quotes as true facts. You never denied you would like to see the population decrease to save your children quaility of life. Why? So what part of the population do you want to cut back on? Real science would be any other fact than CO2 is a dangerous gas, we exhale CO2 and the trees produce it at night. It is made up of Carbon and Oxygen the building blocks of everything on the planet. Which means if we get rid of CO2, everything is gone. Don't need to site a source, learned these facts in science class and applied common sense.

Well you were the one who complained about how the world is growing at the rate of the population of Eau Claire, yet we need to save you children. Your quote " exploding population of addicted to fossil fuel consumption. Everyday the globe sprouts a new cell of humanity bigger than the size of eau claire Wisconsin. Donald V, are you telling me that over time there isn't going to be some price to pay for that and that we can "burn baby burn" as much as we want, in any small window of time, without any impact on my children's quality of life. Tom J. First of all I have never made statements even clost to your claim. I believe we should all be good stewarts of the earth based on real science that does not have eugenics as the base. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenics

Tom J - Your quote "Everyday the globe sprouts a new cell of humanity bigger than the size of eau claire Wisconsin. Donald V, are you telling me that over time there isn't going to be some price to pay for that and that we can "burn baby burn" as much as we want, in any small window of time, without any impact on my children's quality of life." This statement tells me you also want population control to save your own childrens "quailty of life", to bad you do not understand the real fact that your children's "quaility of life" has already been dimished at a far greater value due to political economics, than your desire to control the CO2 your children exhale with every breath they take, to save Mothe Earth.

TomJ. You certainly know how to make words about environmental issues BUT do you have a clue about how the ecomony of this country and the global economy works. Higher taxes in the US on energy, etc. while India, China, et.al. take our jobs and yet raise the earth's ecological problems is at issue here. Get real....the US needs to become more efficient and compete in the global society. The little help that US Cap & Trade reductions suggest will NOT make even an insignificent effect on the global issue BUT the economic effect will put the US at a great disadvantage. Job losses and increased interest costs and a total decrease of living standards in US will be the result.
