Campus News: From UW River Falls and Stout

These universities released information about area residents attending classes and their recent academic accomplishments.

These universities released information about area residents attending classes and their recent academic accomplishments.

UW-Stout

MENOMONIE -- Scholarships were awarded to 335 UW-Stout students this year through the Stout University Foundation, Inc. These students, all from River Falls were given the following scholarships:

Margaret Brion, majoring in business administration, received the Sentry Insurance Foundation Student Leadership Scholarship; Alyssa Duffy, majoring in early childhood education, received the Mary Wilhelm Odell and William A. Odell Memorial Scholarship and the Richard Roberts Memorial Scholarship; Sarah Hoffman, majoring in service management, received the Essie K. Wesenberg Scholarship; and Thomas Leque, majoring in technology education, received the Richard V. Johnson Scholarship.

UW-River Falls

Kayla Gaulke, the daughter of Wendy Zillgitt of River Falls and Greg Gaulke of Beldenville, is the recipient of the UW-River Falls Mary J. Crownhart Scholarship for the 2011-2012 academic year, awarded to a student enrolled in the graduate program for counseling and school psychology.

The recipient must have a high cumulative GPA and exhibit leadership qualities through involvement in professional/local organizations and community involvement.

Gaulke graduated from River Falls High School in 2006 and from UW-RF in December 2009, with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in psychology.

She is now completing a Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in school counseling.
