Peace Corp anniversary visit
Last week, former Wisconsin Peace Corp members visited Rep. Kind’s office for the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corp. The group talked to Rep. Kind about supporting the Peace Corp, continuing to maintain funding for the Corp, as well as a bill to authorize a commemorative memorial on the National Mall.
Last week, former Wisconsin Peace Corp members visited Rep. Kind’s office for the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corp. The group talked to Rep. Kind about supporting the Peace Corp, continuing to maintain funding for the Corp, as well as a bill to authorize a commemorative memorial on the National Mall.
There have been about 5,750 Wisconsin residents who have volunteered in the Peace Corp over the last 50 years – 225 Wisconsinites are currently serving.
