Lowered flag honors fallen soldier
The Wisconsin Department of Military affairs confirms an order issued by Gov. Scott Walker for flags to be lowered to half staff between sunrise and sunset Monday, Sept. 19, to honor U.S. Army Sgt. Chester G. Stoda, 32, of Black River Falls, who died Sept. 2, in a non-combat related incident supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Stoda served in the 8th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade, Fort Hood, Tex.
