J.P. Feyereisen of River Falls capped a stellar spring and summer of baseball by playing in the 40th annual Wisconsin American Legion All-Star Game at Miller Park in Milwaukee Sunday.

Feyereisen pitched two innings for the North team and struck out five batters to help the North to a 9-2 victory over the South. The game was played after the Milwaukee Brewers had defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates, 2-1, in 10 innings.

Feyereisen posted a pitching record of 7-0 with a 1.12 earned run average while helping River Falls Post 121 win its first ever American Legion state championship this summer. He struck out 65 batters in 50 innings while batting .380 with a team-high four home runs and 40 runs batted in.

Feyereisen picked up two complete-game wins and hit a pair of home runs at the American Legion Class AA State Tournament earlier this month on his way to being named tournament MVP. He will play baseball next year for 2011 WIAC champions UW-Stevens Point.
