Don’t forget to vote, follow election results
The long-awaited Wisconsin Senate recall election is here. Local voting polls in River Falls were already experiencing heavy turnouts today, Tuesday morning, Aug. 9. The recall pits Republican incumbent Sheila Harsdorf against Democrat challenger Shelly Moore. As soon as results are known tonight, they will be posted on the Journal’s website and also at www.rivertowns.net.

Other senate recall elections are also underway across Wisconsin. Democrats are hoping to win enough of those to regain control of the Senate.
The Assembly and the Senate, along with the governor’s office, are now in the hands of Republicans.
The Wisconsin recall elections are being watched nationally as a test to see which party is better viewed by the public. They are also seen by some as an advance preview of the 2012 presidential election.
