A Sheboygan judge will decide today, July 27, whether a man should go on trial for hitting two young boys because he thought they let his pet frog get away.
Christopher Sipe, 26, is facing two felony counts of child abuse.
Prosecutors said he discovered his frog missing earlier this month. It returned a short time later, but authorities said Sipe struck the two young boys hard because he assumed they caused the animal to go astray.
Prosecutors said Sipe was drinking before hitting the 6-and 8-year-old youngsters. Both had red marks and bruises on their faces. His lawyer says Sipe will plead innocent to the charges.
