Veterans will be admitted to the fairgrounds free that day as our guest. Just notify the ticket taker at the entrance gates that you are “proud to be a veteran.”

At 10:30 a.m. Thursday, there will be an opening ceremony coordinated by David Till, Veterans Service Officer, located in the picnic shelter on the fairgrounds. Please join us as the colors are presented to kick off Pierce County’s premier event of the summer that runs through Sunday, Aug. 14.

Thursday is jam-packed with activities as well as the rest of the days of the Fair. Stick around after the opening ceremony and enjoy the comic magician, ventriloquist, and the kid shows starting hourly at 11 a.m. Judging will be taking place throughout the day; live animal judging starts at 1 p.m.

Don’t forget to visit the food stands and sample homemade pies, hot beef plates, a sizzling hamburger or the famous 4-H malt.

Wrap up your day with the featured grandstand event, the truck pull, starting at 7 p.m.
