Fourteen in inaugural Wildcat Hall of Fame

The first class of the River Falls High School Wildcat Hall of Fame has been announced and will be inducted at the 1st annual Wildcat Hall of Fame Golf Tournament July 29 at Kilkarney Hills Golf Club. Fourteen members of the inaugural class will be inducted in categories including Athlete, Coach, Distinguished Citizen and Legacy.

The first class of the River Falls High School Wildcat Hall of Fame has been announced and will be inducted at the 1st annual Wildcat Hall of Fame Golf Tournament July 29 at Kilkarney Hills Golf Club.

Fourteen members of the inaugural class will be inducted in categories including Athlete, Coach, Distinguished Citizen and Legacy.

The inaugural class of athletes include Duane Benedict (Class of 1965), Paul Cudd (Class of 1971), Steve Farley (Class of 1977), Paul Wehking (Class of 1983), Brenda Simone (Class of 1986), Kate Peterson (Class of 1987), Karyn Bye Dietz (Class of 1989) and Kevin Black (Class of 1998).

Coaches in the inaugural class include Deb Timmerman and Ron Wunrow, while Grant Hanson and Kirby Symes will be inducted as Distinguished Citizens. The Distinguished Citizen category is for persons who have made outstanding contributions to the River Falls School District or society as a whole.

The Legacy category, for those who meet induction criteria prior to the last 50 years, will include Red Dawson (Class of 1924) and Roger Kuss (Class of 1949).

The Wildcat Hall of Fame has been established to highlight the accomplishments of River Falls High School alumni, coaches and friends.

The first Hall of Fame class will be indicted at a ceremony in conjunction with the Wildcat Open -- Wildcat Hall of Fame Golf Tournament, on Friday, July 29, at Kilkarney Hills, sponsored by the River Falls High School Pep Club.

Cost is $80 per golfer or $320 per foursome and includes 18 holes of golf with cart and range balls, box lunch, gift bag, prizes, contests, live entertainment and the Wildcat Hall of Fame dinner banquet.

Registration and lunch begins at 10:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon and the Hall of Fame banquet at 6 p.m. Cost for the banquet alone is $20.

Hole sponsorship are also available for $150 each and an event sponsorship can be purchased for $200. T-shirt sponsorship, which includes a name and/or logo across the upper back of the Wildcat Hall of Fame t-shirts, cost $500.
