Letter: Hometown service was big home run

My wife and I recently held our daughter’s wedding ceremony and reception at the Riverview Hotel in downtown River Falls, and had to express our pleasure at how well things turned out.
The ceremony was supposed to take place in our backyard, with the reception at the hotel, but the stormy weather changed all of that.
After a long Saturday morning watching the weather forecast, looking at the sky and praying, we called the hotel with the bad news, and it couldn’t have been more accommodating.
The hotel staff allowed us to move the reception to the lobby, moving things around and arranging the flowers and plants from our home just right so it looked like we’d planned it that way.
The reception came off without a hitch, the food and service were great, and our guests from North Dakota couldn’t say enough about what a good time they had.
Our thanks to the staff at the Riverview for all they did: Dustin the manager; Toni the catering manager; the bartenders and waitresses all made it a very special day for our daughter, son-in-law and the whole family.
Sometimes these days you’ll find a lack of quality customer service, but not that day at the Riverview. They knocked it out of the park!
